Artist Statement

As an artist, my work explores various landscapes, characters, and abstract subjects visually devised from personal emotions or life experiences. Furthermore, the landscapes and characters are conceptualized from real world references, or fictional elements imagined from the creative mind. These fictional ideas are inspired by films, games, and shows related to fantasy and sci-fi that I had the pleasure to experience growing up.

I create two-dimensional drawings and three-dimensional sculptures expressing my love for traditional art, as well as my passion for fantasy and sci-fi themes. My work is also shaped by my experiences with video and tabletop games, as well as real-world events. Through my great attention to excessive detail in each piece, I aim to spark exploration and curiosity in my audience as they view them. I hope that, by continuing my love for art, I can inspire others to express their emotions and experiences through visual mediums. My process begins with sketching rough drafts in graphite, which I then refine with detail using ink and sometimes add color, combining experimentation and introspection to explore line, shape, and form while reflecting on personal experiences.

n my ongoing body of work, I’m interested in redesigning my real world experiences into fantasy and sci-fi style adventures symbolizing places, friendships, and memorable moments recorded within each piece. I continue to explore lighting and shading techniques to further develop and enhance my two-dimensional images. In conclusion, I pursue my field of work in a way that exposes my hobbies and interests, with a goal to inspire other current or future artists to do the same.
